DDEX and the digital accession net
DDEX is an international, member-based standards organization. Its voluntary standards give labels, distributors, digital services, publishers, rights organizations, and technology companies common ways to exchange music metadata and commercial information. DDEX messages move data between systems; they do not by themselves place permanent metadata inside an audio file.

Royalty matching
Consistent names, roles, identifiers, works, and recordings improve the chance that usage reports can be matched to the correct parties. Standards help; complete and accurate source data remains essential.
Automation at scale
Structured messages let organizations exchange large catalogs without retyping every field. DDEX is a voluntary industry standard, not a government filing or legal mandate.
Studio attribution
RIN can carry production-stage credits forward. It is an exchange message, not a guarantee that every recipient will display or preserve every field.
The accession net
Identifiers connect people, works, recordings, and products. Metanated adds its own accession record and evidence trail without replacing the issuing authority for any industry identifier.
