B-Roll

B-roll captures everything behind the behind the scenes — the setup, the process, the hands, the transitions, the environment. The shot list itself is the accession: numbered, timecoded, signed at wrap, and filed against the work it belongs to.

• Slate every setup: accession reference, date, location, operator, take number.
• Log each shot as it happens — timecode in and out, subject, one line of description.
• Mark restricted frames on the log the moment they occur, before any card leaves the room.
• Sign the list at wrap. Later corrections are dated additions, never edits to the original.
• Footage is retrieved by list entry. If a shot is not on the list, it is not in the record.
