Node Zero · how access works

Only data, dollars, and donations get in

The studio no longer runs one client at a time. Node Zero is capacity-first: blocks hold several seats, access is earned at one of three doors, and nobody stands behind a single calendar waiting for a gatekeeper.

    The three doors

    Door one

    Data

Hand over the record. Who you are, your role, the project, and the rights behind it — PRO, publisher, ISRC where it exists, plus your share link. A complete file is the price of entry, because the room documents everything it touches.

A day pass — one session, fully manifested.

    Door two

    Dollars

Pledge the deposit or the session fee. Nothing is charged on the site: you name the amount, the studio confirms it and settles with you directly, then marks it received.

A season pass — eight sessions across the term.

    Door three

    Donations — cash or in-kind

Fund a seat, yours or someone else's. In-kind counts the same as cash: gear, transport, food, labour, sponsorship, studio time. Describe the contribution and its value; the studio values it with you and logs it.

A patron pass — twelve sessions, and your contribution on the record.

    How it runs

    1. 01Open a doorPick data, dollars or a donation and file the key. One door is enough — you never have to satisfy all three.
    2. 02The studio accepts itEvery key is reviewed. Accepted keys issue a pass in your account; declined keys come back with a reason.
    3. 03Claim a seatSession blocks are shared. The calendar shows seats remaining per block — morning, afternoon, evening, or a full lockout — and you take one.
    4. 04Or step into the lineIf no date fits, join the intake line with your project and how soon you need it. The studio schedules you directly.
    5. 05Leave with a manifestProvenance, gain history, splits and an archive record travel out with the work. That is the point of the room.

    Shared blocks, no bottleneck

Node Zero has stations, not a single chair: a live room, a control station for mix and recall, a capture booth, and an accession desk. Each session block — morning, afternoon, evening — carries a seat per active station, so several people work the same window. A full lockout still takes the day, and taking it closes that day to everyone else. The calendar shows exactly how many seats are left, so you never guess whether you are in.

    Questions

Why not just book me a day?
One client per day is a bottleneck: one calendar, one gatekeeper, everyone else waiting. Capacity fixes it — several people share a block, and the room stays busy instead of blocked.
Do I need to pay to get in?
No. Dollars are one door of three. A complete data file or a contribution in kind opens the same room.
Is payment taken on the site?
Not today. Pledged amounts are logged and settled with the studio directly, then marked received.
    What counts as in-kind?
Anything the studio can actually use: microphones and outboard, transport, catering, engineering or teaching hours, sponsorship, promotion, or studio time you control.
How long does a pass last?
A day pass covers one session. Season and patron passes carry a session allowance and a term; both are visible on your access page.
    Can I bring a team?
Yes. The seat is yours; note the party in your session notes so the studio staffs the block properly.

Step in independent. Step out verified.

Bring the record, bring the money, or bring what the room needs. Any one of them opens the door.
